Dental Assistant

Licensed Dental Assistant  The Stò:l? Service Agency (SSA) seeks a qualified part‑time Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA) to work in the Health Services Department. Preference may be given to applicants of Aboriginal ancestry pursuant to section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code.
Responsibilities   Assist chairside during dental procedures.
Prepare and sterilize instruments.
Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Support the efficient operation of the dental office while upholding a high standard of patient care.
Qualifications   Successful completion of a Certified Dental Assistant/Licensed Dental Assistant program.
Currently licensed with the BC College of Oral Health Care Practitioners.
Proficiency in dental practice software:
Exam Power Practice, Power Chart and Adstra Imaging.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment, independently.
Professional commitment, flexibility and strong problem‑solving and dispute‑resolution skills.
Familiarity with Stò:l? and other First Nation cultures, traditions and histories.
Ability to maintain healthy working relationships with staff, community representatives and other organizations.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Adherence to confidentiality guidelines for all client and staff records, materials and communications.
Practical work experience in a dental office is an asset.
Additional Requirements   Proof of education documentation and current registration.
Professional references (names and email addresses of two references).
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence.
Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check.
Salary and Position Details  Payment: $28.00–$30.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Type of position:
Part‑time, 3–4 days per week. 3‑month probationary period with planned performance evaluations.
