The Fraser Cascade School District is seeking an exceptional educational leader for the position of Principal of Coquihalla Elementary School.
Principal – Coquihalla Elementary School (Kindergarten to Grade6)
Coquihalla Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 School serving the community of Hope, BC, with over 20 teaching staff, 22 support staff, and approximately 350 enrolled students. Coquihalla Elementary School has a large Indigenous student population and has strong working relationships with the local First Nations. Coquihalla Elementary is a Strong Start school.
Qualifications- enrolled in a program or a Master's Degree in Administration, Curriculum or related area;
- demonstrated knowledge and skills in program development, curriculum and assessment in the curriculum redesign;
- demonstrated successful teaching and administrative leadership experience;
- strong background and relevant training in Early Literacy and Numeracy;
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to support students with inclusive education needs;
- demonstrated the ability to work in partnership with families and leaders of Indigenous communities in order to continue to enhance the success of Indigenous students;
- demonstrated understanding of Indigenous Principles of Learning and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation;
- the ability to develop sound and positive working relationships with professional teaching and support staff;
- the ability to engage parents and students in issues concerning school improvement;
- excellent interpersonal skills and a consultative, collegial orientation to decision making and school improvement;
- background in using technology to improve student learning;
- valid B.C. teaching certificate or eligibility for membership in the B.C. College of Teachers;
Salary Range: $153,546 to 162,237
