Learning Assistance Math​/Science Specialist

Become a vital part of Sardis Secondary School's support team as a Learning Assistance specialist focused on grades 9-12 Math and Science.

Your role will greatly impact student learning outcomes.

This full-time position targets educators adept in learning assistance for non-enrolling Math and Science courses. You will assess students' learning needs, implement effective teaching strategies, and devise suitable instructional materials for diverse learners. Your work will be pivotal in enhancing educational achievement for secondary students facing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic teaching and assessments for special needs students

• Collaborate with students, parents, and teachers on IEPs

• Assess and adapt curriculum materials for varied student needs

• Utilize innovative technology to track student progress

• Promote positive relationships with students and staff

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Math or Science)

• Proven experience in teaching Math and Science at secondary level

• Strong skills in assessment and special education practices

• Ability to work collaboratively within an educational team

• Knowledge of modern curriculum frameworks and strategies
