Position: School Counsellor for Indigenous Students
Location: agassiz

Become a School Counsellor at Seabird Island, dedicated to Indigenous student empowerment and cultural safety. This role enhances well-being through effective counselling and collaboration.
As a key team member, you'll provide academically and socially oriented support that respects Indigenous traditions and backgrounds. By coordinating with teachers and community partners, your goal is to advance student achievement and personal responsibility. Engaging students through cultural education will strengthen their connection to tradition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a safe environment for open communication

• Assist with educational planning and career development

• Foster student ownership in decision-making processes

• Collaborate with various stakeholders for holistic support

• Observe and document students’ progress for ongoing assistance
Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology or related field

• Minimum 3 years in a school counselling environment

• Understanding of Indigenous cultures and contemporary issues

• Superior communication and relationship skills

• High moral and ethical standards
