Position: Full-Time Kindergarten Teacher at Sqwá First Nation
Embrace an enriching teaching experience as a Kindergarten Teacher with Sqwá First Nation. Create a culturally responsive learning environment for 5-6 year-olds while preparing them for Grade 1.

This full-time, permanent position requires creativity and dedication to foster academic, social, emotional, and cultural growth among students. Collaborating with the Principal, you will implement play-based instruction rooted in the BC Curriculum, interwoven with Stó:lō culture and values. This role includes various responsibilities that ensure a safe and engaging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare classroom materials and learning resources

• Deliver engaging daily instruction using Saxon Math and Read Well

• Communicate effectively with parents about student behavior

• Conduct regular assessments and produce report cards

• Plan and organize class events, including graduations and field trips

Requirements:

• Valid BCTF Teaching Certificate

• Minimum 1 year of direct teaching experience

• Training in Saxon Math and Read Well programs

• Familiarity with Acadience and CAT 4 testing

• Strong understanding of Stó:lō culture and language
