Position: Passionate Kindergarten Teacher at Sqwá First Nation
Make a positive impact on young learners as a Kindergarten Teacher with Sqwá First Nation. This full-time role focuses on delivering a supportive and culturally immersive environment for children preparing for Grade 1.

As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will employ a play-based approach aligned with the BC Curriculum while integrating Stó:lō culture into daily lessons. The successful candidate will foster academic and social growth for children aged 5-6. Collaboration with parents and community is essential for this enriching role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare engaging learning activities and materials

• Guide children through structured daily routines

• Monitor classroom cleanliness and organization

• Build strong relationships with parents and community members

• Oversee educational assistants and support staff

Requirements:

• Valid BCTF Teaching Certificate required

• Minimum 1 year of direct teaching experience preferred

• Training in Saxon Math and Read Well mandatory

• Familiarity with Acadience and CAT 4 assessments

• Previous experience with First Nations communities is a plus
