Position: City Planner I
Accelerate your career in urban planning with the City of Chilliwack as a Planner I. This full-time role focuses on development planning, technical support, and compliance.

This is a full-time position exclusively for City of Chilliwack employees. The Planner I will assist management in the Planning Department with a blend of technical field work and office tasks. Key responsibilities include report preparation, review of permits, and general inquiry responses, all while adhering to safety practices around confidential information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed reports on development and long-range planning

• Respond to inquiries regarding zoning and planning matters

• Provide technical support during planning functions

• Review zoning, development, and building permits

• Conduct compliance checks and site visits

Requirements:

• 2-year post-secondary program in Geography or Planning

• One year of relevant experience in planning

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning software

• Strong organization and communication skills

• Valid B.C. Driver's Licence or ability to obtain
