Fraser Valley Bylaw Enforcement Officer

Join the Fraser Valley Regional District as a full-time Bylaw, Compliance and Enforcement Officer I. This role centers on permits, investigation, and effective bylaw enforcement in the region.

Under the direction of the Manager of Inspection Services, you will ensure compliance with local bylaws and regulations. You must handle complaints and challenges diplomatically while maintaining public trust and safety. Experience and training relating to compliance and enforcement will benefit candidates immensely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough reviews of permit applications

• Investigate bylaw complaints with diligence

• Develop and update relevant bylaws and regulations

• Engage effectively with the public in conflict situations

• Collaborate closely with the inspection services team

Requirements:

• Education in criminology or completion of Level I Bylaw course

• Familiarity with local government regulations

• Strong conflict resolution and communication skills

• Capability to work independently under minimal supervision

• Possession of a valid driver’s license
