This is an exciting opportunity to join the Fraser Salish Mental Health & Wellness team as we continue to strengthen culturally grounded approaches to mental health, healing, substance use wellness, and traditional wellness across the region. The successful candidate will help shape and advance innovative community-driven wellness initiatives that integrate cultural teachings, land-based healing, relationship-centered practice, and system transformation.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with First Nations communities, Elders, Knowledge Sharers, and partners to support meaningful and lasting wellness outcomes.

Regional Mental Health, Healing & Wellness Liaison

$91,172 - $107,261 - $123,351 per year (pay range explained below)

Permanent

Regular, 37.5 hours a week (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Matsqui Office - Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy).

As the Regional Mental Health, Healing & Wellness Liaison supports First Nations communities throughout the Fraser Salish Region by providing leadership, coordination, consultation, and systems navigation related to mental health, healing, wellness, and substance use services. Working through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach, the Liaison supports culturally safe and holistic wellness pathways that honour the First Nations Perspective on Health and Wellness.

The role strengthens community capacity, facilitates collaboration among partners, supports access to services, identifies systemic gaps, and advances community-defined wellness priorities.

To be successful in this role you will have-

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or acceptable combination of education and experience
• Significant, recent and relevant mental health and wellness experience (usually acquired over a period of 5-7 years)
• Experience working in a regional mental health and substance use setting and in particular working with First Nations individuals, families and communities or First Nations serving organizations
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams specific to mental health and wellness

• In-depth knowledge of the BC mental health and substance use system and the current landscape of First Nations health in BC
• Solid understanding of the First Nations Perspective on Health and Wellness
• Wide, regional knowledge base of existing mental health and substance use services and supports
• Thorough understanding of person centered principles to provide holistic, integrated, coordinated, and high-quality care that respects diversity and culture
• Trauma informed practice
