Role Overview

i-Open Technologies is looking for an experienced and motivated developer with good interpersonal skills and an aptitude towards a more client-facing role. Initially, we need a developer that can help with product and demonstration development but that can grow into a position that will support the sales and solution implementation process. The successful candidate will eventually serve as a technology adviser with support for the business analysis process to both prospective customers as well as existing and new client accounts.

The initial position will have you deeply involved in the development of our solutions and the creation of demonstrations that will catch the imagination of our customers. You will also participate in the needs analysis process with senior PM’s and BA’s which ideally will lead to you taking a leadership role in this area. You need to be a self-starter so you can hit the ground running.

You are a “people person” and are comfortable working closely with clients and customers to help design and develop solutions that meet their final needs. The position would require someone with a passion for learning new technologies and an eye for applying those technologies in real world solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Development of custom applications based on functional and technical designs

Using technical documents deliver required solutions for client requirements; fully document code; utilize version management; provide Unit testing; work to develop required help documentation.

Strategizing web & client/server tool use and function

Work with team to come up with creative ways to display and interact with complex data sets. This will require collection and analysis of client requirements; provision of technical prototyping/walk-throughs to ensure software meets business requirements; evaluate new software and technology and make recommendations regarding its use.

IT Support

Provide routine PC Support such as configuring email, system and application updates and account administration.

Integration and Migration of data

Understand and develop migration and transformation methodologies.

Design of Web user interfaces for new and existing web-based projects

Create innovative and appealing websites using industry standard methods; graphic design capabilities would be an asset.

Documentation

Document all methods used to create geo-web visualization tools for future maintenance and updates; document roll out procedures and strategies for software; creation and maintenance of functional and technical design documents, as well as some general business analysis.
