• Assist management in achieving efficient operation in the Recreation Services Section through reliable performance of custodian/security tasks, following municipal policies and safety practices.
• Perform custodial/security services of municipal facilities: minor cleaning, ensure facilities are presentable and usable by the public, secure facilities when not in use, clean washrooms, lobbies, foyers, manage waste disposal and recycling activities.
• Maintain outdoor areas such as parking lots, manage safe and clear access to facilities, remove debris and shoveling snow around entrances, steps, and wheelchair ramps as assigned.
• Work prescribed shift schedules, including overtime as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned under general supervision. Performance is subject to review, inspection, and evaluation by the Facilities Supervisor.

• Able to understand verbal and written instructions in English, fill simple forms, count and perform addition/subtraction.
• Able to exhibit courtesy, tact, diplomacy in dealing with the public and be neat and presentable.
• Must possess a valid B.C. Driver's License.
• Preferred: previous experience with custodial/security practices; must acquire sound knowledge within three (3) months of on‑job training.
• Must be able to demonstrate skill in the use of equipment and materials provided.
• Able to recognize, rectify, and report actual and potential safety hazards.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department officials and staff.
• Able to perform manual work and lift heavy objects.

Salary: $24.73 per hour (2026 Rate).
