Greenhouse Production Labourer

The Opportunity

DeVry Greenhouses is seeking motivated individuals with a positive attitude to join our fun and energetic team. The core focus of this position is to support production activities across our greenhouse and nursery operations.

The ideal candidate has flexibility with hours due to volume changes during peak and non-peak periods. Regular hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm , Monday to Friday, with some Saturday work required during peak times. Part-time work is not available.

• 3 Greenhouse positions
• 3 Nursery positions

General/ Field & Nursery Duties

• Field work as required
• Tree planting
• palletizing and material handling
• Order picking and preparation for shipping
• Machine operation (training provided where required)
• Shipping and loading of plants

Greenhouse-Specific Duties

• Propagating various types of cuttings
• Planting, spacing, and spiking of plants
• Order picking within the greenhouse
• Other miscellaneous duties required in a greenhouse and nursery setting

• Hard-working and reliable
• Self-motivated with a positive and uplifting can-do attitude
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Willing and able to work extended hours during peak shipping seasons
• Wiling to work at other DeVry locations if operational support is needed
• Previous greenhouse or nursery experience is an asset

• Physically active role involving standing, lifting, and repetitive motions
• Greenhouse and nursery environment with variable temperature and humidity
• Flexibility required for extended hours during peak production seasons

• Starting wage is $17.85 hourly, dependent on experience
