The position of Fabricator/Welder works from patterns, blueprints, and engineered drawings, using a variety of tools and machines to fabricate metal parts, weld, and assemble components. This role supports custom manufacturing in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform TIG, MIG, and flux core welding to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Operate fabrication equipment (shears, ironworkers, drills, plasma, torches)
- Use templates and gauges to ensure accuracy of parts and joins
- Safely operate cranes, rigging, and lift trucks
- Support production targets and continuous improvement with Supervisors/Leads
- Complete required documentation and follow SOPs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Assist with assembly, testing, shipping, and installation as needed
- Fabrication Red Seal is preferred
- 3+ years of fabrication/welding experience
- Thorough knowledge of welding practices, fabrication techniques, and custom machinery or project work
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and shop instructions to meet specifications and tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, installation knowledge, and basic layout skills.
- Proficiency with fabrication hand tools and shop equipment.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- CWB certification is considered an asset
