What You’ll DoFeed Mill Operator plays a vital role in ensuring efficient production of livestock feed through bulk receiving, mixing, pelleting, and shipping at Chilliwack Mill. You will maintain smooth operations by identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Operate production machinery and identify opportunities to optimize performance
- Ensure quality and food safety standards are met
- Meet or exceed production targets, record data on production orders and activities
- Execute small maintenance tasks and repair work on production equipment
- Promote awareness of unsafe situations and take appropriate action
- 2–3 years of manufacturing experience (asset)
- Good computer skills
- Forklift certification (preferred)
- Boiler certificate (Class 5 or higher, preferred)
- Ability to work in rotating shifts: 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m.–6:00 a.m.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime
- Ability to lift 25 kg regularly
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
- Team player and coachable
- Exposure to the elements, noise, dust, and working at heights
- Basic computer skills with attention to detail
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
