Psychiatric Liaison Nursing

Position: Psychiatric Liaison Nursing with Fraser Health
Enhance emergency mental health care as a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse at Fraser Health in British Columbia, delivering recovery-oriented interventions and assessments. Work collaboratively to ensure patient-centered mental health solutions.
This role requires conducting crisis assessments and contributions to the care of patients awaiting further treatment. You will liaise with internal and external teams, develop care plans, and provide guidance in mental health management. Your expertise in assessment and crisis intervention will be vital to maintaining patient flow and delivering quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate patient care coordination with mental health teams

• Perform thorough psychosocial evaluations and assessments

• Implement effective care strategies in collaboration with physicians

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient care

• Advocate for patients to access community resources
Requirements:

• Approved education in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing

• Registered with the BCCNM as a Nurse

• At least one year of relevant experience

• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and mental health legislation

• Strong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills
