Food Quality Technician Responsibilities Perform routine quality checks (pH, Brix, weights, temperatures) on raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods.
Monitor CCPs and OPRPs, including sulphite (SO?) testing, metal detection, and thermal pasteurization records.
Collect, log, and dispatch samples to external labs; maintain retention samples for traceability.
Audit batch documentation against specifications and process releases in the SAP/ERP system.
Keep lab areas organized and stocked per GLP; compile CoAs, allergen statements, and other quality records.
Conduct daily pre-operational checks, environmental monitoring, and plant GMP inspections.
Assist with non-conformance investigations and participate in safety and quality meetings.
Food Quality Technician Qualifications Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field. High school diploma + lab certificate + relevant experience may be considered.
HACCP certification preferred; GMP/GLP training required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with lab equipment (pH meters, refractometers, titration analyzers like Mettler Toledo G10S) and metal detection verification.
Minimum 1 year in a QC laboratory, ideally in food manufacturing or a regulated environment.
Familiarity with FSSC 22000, allergen management, organic certifications, and electronic document control systems is an asset
Available to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Must have a valid full Class 5 driver's license and own transportation.
Able to start immediately on the next business day.
Able to provide two professional references.
