Culturally Responsive Social Worker Position

Make a difference as a Family Service Social Worker in Chilliwack, specializing in community-based support for Indigenous families. Drive impactful change through dedicated child protection initiatives.

This full-time role involves working closely with children, youth, and families within Stó:lō Territory. You’ll collaborate with community members and professionals while utilizing Structured Decision Making tools to create effective family plans.

Your role will be crucial in assessing risks and facilitating necessary changes for families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete SDM assessments and monitor family situations

• Facilitate family planning conferences with stakeholders

• Implement and evaluate family plans collaboratively

• Document court-required reports and maintain records

• Ensure community liaison and cooperative teamwork

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work or Social Sciences

• At least three years of relevant experience

• Understanding of B.C. child welfare legislation

• Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultural practices

• Clean BC Driver’s Class 5 License
