Position: Full Time Guardianship Social Worker
Join Xyólheméylh as a Full-Time Guardianship Social Worker, where you'll advocate for Indigenous children's rights, identity, and cultural connection. This role, based in Abbotsford, BC, focuses on strengthening family bonds and promoting holistic care.

As a Guardianship Social Worker, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for acting as a legal Guardian for children and youth in care. Your mission will include building trusting relationships with clients, families, and communities, incorporating Indigenous culture in service delivery. Working closely with Elders and community members, you'll ensure that children remain connected to their heritage and identity, emphasizing the importance of family unity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as legal Guardian for children in care

• Collaborate with families and Indigenous communities

• Provide culturally appropriate social services

• Develop trusting relationships with children and families

• Uphold children's rights to cultural heritage

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field

• Minimum 3 years experience in human services

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and practices

• Skills in effective communication and report writing

• Valid BC Driver’s License with insurance
