Position: Navigator - Casual/Term Contract

Chilliwack, BC | Casual, Term Contract
$28.50 per hour

Ruth & Naomi's Mission is seeking a Navigator to support individuals in accessing income assistance and related Ministry services through a third-party service agreement with the Ministry.

This position works directly with individuals who are unable to access services through the Ministry office and require alternate support to maintain access to income assistance and related resources. The Navigator serves as the primary point of contact between Ruth & Naomi's Mission and Ministry representatives while supporting individuals in navigating systems, accessing resources, and overcoming barriers.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate the receipt and distribution of income assistance cheques for eligible individuals
  • Support individuals in navigating Ministry documentation and eligibility requirements
  • Provide professional, respectful, and trauma-informed support to individuals accessing services
  • Assist individuals in understanding available Ministry services and supports
  • Connect individuals to Ministry crisis supports and related resources when appropriate
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Ruth & Naomi's Mission and Ministry representatives
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to service delivery
  • Support individuals experiencing barriers that may impact their ability to access income assistance
What You'll Bring
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, substance use, mental health challenges, or other complex barriers
  • De-escalation training
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while supporting individuals in high-needs situations
  • Experience navigating government or social assistance systems is considered an asset
  • Class 5 Driver's License
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Compensation & Benefits
  • Wage of $28.50 per hour
