Youth Substance Use Counsellor

Position: Full-Time Youth Substance Use Counsellor Role
Make a difference in Chilliwack as a full-time Youth Substance Use Counsellor with Pacific Community Resources Society. This role centers around providing comprehensive support to youth aged 13-24 facing substance use challenges.

As a crucial member of the CAPS program, you will engage in one-on-one counselling, support local youth, and facilitate group sessions. Your experience will help in navigating the complexities of youth substance use, while working closely with schools and community organizations. This position is key in promoting health and recovery among young individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted one-on-one counselling for youth

• Interact with schools and community care teams regularly

• Lead and support group activities for participants

• Manage administrative responsibilities effectively

• Promote a safe and respectful environment for clients

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Child and Youth Care required

• Proven experience in addiction intervention environments

• Knowledge in trauma and addictions theory

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Training related to brain-based disabilities is an asset
