Position: District of Kent Equipment Operator 2 Role
Location: Agassiz

The District of Kent is seeking a Time-Durated Equipment Operator 2 to join the Public Works Department. This position provides an opportunity to operate various municipal equipment in a vital community role.

In this role, you will handle essential machinery, including trucks, graders, and mowers, while performing necessary inspections and maintenance. Candidates must have significant experience in heavy equipment and adhere to operational standards for safety and efficiency. A strong work ethic is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate tractors, backhoes, and dump trucks effectively

• Conduct thorough inspections and perform maintenance tasks

• Assist with light repairs on equipment

• Operate snow and ice control machinery capable

• Ensure all operations comply with recognized practices

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or an equivalent qualification

• Minimum three years’ experience in heavy equipment operation

• Certification as Heavy Equipment Operator or equivalent level for two pieces

• Valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with air endorsement

• Completion of Police Information Check and provide recent driver’s abstract
