Loader​/Swamper Westeck

The Loader/Swamper is labour-intensive and is responsible for unloading and loading trucks, as well as accompanying drivers to job sites to assist in the unloading of finished products. The position follows safe practices at all times when loading or unloading.

Dock Loading

Follow the loading sheets and locate the materials in the yard to load (with assistance in the yard if needed to move materials).

Move carts within the shipping/loading bay from production.

Swamper

Provide assistance to the Drivers.

Assist when backing out of treacherous locations.

Suggest best routes on sites to deliver the product safely.

Remind drivers to call ahead or assist as needed.

Help load and unload the product safely in shipping bays and at job sites.

Check to ensure the load is securely strapped and stowed prior to going on the road.

Inspect unloaded products and glass to ensure no defects or damage and work with the Service Manager where concerns arise.

Other Related Duties As Required

Fold and organize the blankets that cover and protect the products.

Keep the work area tidy and clean.

Drive a 5‑tonne vehicle (no airbrakes) if needed to pick up doors stored at Plant 2 to bring back to Plant 1 (if licensed and cleared to do so).

Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.

Wage is $19.22 - $25.90
