- Respond to incoming support requests via phone, email, chat or ticketing system.
- Respond to basic network-related support tickets:
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues – Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN.
- Connectivity issues (e.g., users unable to access the internet or shared drives).
- IP conflicts.
- Slow network performance.
- Verify physical connections and port status on switches.
- Restart network devices or interfaces when necessary (with permission).
- Coordinate with EUC or Helpdesk teams when issues span network and endpoint.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of wireless connectivity issues (SSID not visible, weak signal, etc.).
- Record changes to ports, cables, patch panels and physical layouts.
- Assist in racking, stacking and patching network gear (under supervision).
- Check patch panels and cable management for cleanliness and order.
- Ensure network closets/server rooms are secure and organized.
Position Requirements
College,
1+ Years
work experience - Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
- Hands-on experience with basic network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN, internet, and shared-drive connectivity.
- Basic understanding of IP addressing and IP conflict troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of switch ports, patch panels, network cables, and physical connectivity.
- Ability to check port status and physical network connections.
- Basic understanding of wireless networks, SSIDs, signal strength, and connectivity issues.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of slow network performance.
- Familiarity with network devices, interfaces, and basic restart procedures.
- Knowledge of network cabling, patching, cable management, and rack/stack activities.
- Ability to maintain accurate network documentation and ticket records.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Helpdesk, EUC, and other IT teams.
- Willingness to work in server rooms/network closets and perform physical infrastructure tasks.
- Ability to follow network security, safety, and change-management procedures.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are an advantage.
