Position DetailsPay Rate: $16.00 per hour, 0-19.5 hours per week depending on department need, availability of funds and student eligibility.
About the RoleThis position will gain marketable work experience by working with Yavapai College staff, Faculty and affiliates in a group effort to support the mission, goals and values of Yavapai College.
The Linework Lab Assistant must have an aptitude for mechanical and electrical environments, be able to maintain tools and equipment in the lab/classroom, be able to follow explicit instructions, and should enjoy working outdoors. This position will be operating in the same environment as scheduled classes take them. These will be indoors and outdoors with all weather types. Physical requirements can be demanding, but no more than what any student experiences as part of the curriculum.
Applicants also need good communication skills and working knowledge of the linework program to interact with students, staff and the public. Students must be working toward completing the linework program. Finally, they should be dependable, able to take direction and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Job duties will include but are not limited to assisting with maintaining a clean lab space for the CDT program.
Responsibilities- Clean and organize linework storage area
- Maintain outdoor seating area adjacent to linework storage
- Walk lab area for tools, equipment, and debris
- Identify problem areas and solutions
- Report problems to faculty and/or staff
- Operate tractor for various tasks in the field
- Organize training materials in the classroom
- Other duties as assigned

This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible position. Students must be FWS eligible as determined by the FAFSA, which means applicants must:
- Have current aid year FAFSA verified and on file at Yavapai College
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credits, of which one class is required for the program of study
- Be in good financial aid standing at Yavapai College
- Have unmet need as determined by the FAFSA
- Be receiving their financial aid from Yavapai College
