Base pay range$22.50/hr - $31.00/hr
Responsibilities- Where state and federal laws/regulations allow, perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities; ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, supervising pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within the guidelines of authorized company policies, laws, regulations and business ethics.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians; make decisions regarding performance management including discipline and termination.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer complaints, respond to requests in a timely manner, answer non-clinical questions, and model customer service best practices.
- Develop strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering services to provide the best experience when using the pharmacy. Enhance customer experience by focusing on healthcare services.
- Assist pharmacist in the delivery of patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting, and verification (where allowed by law). Complete patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision (where allowed by law); assist with healthcare service offerings including administering vaccines, health screenings, and other services allowed by law.
- Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in operations. Coordinate daily schedule, allocate hours, ensure the facility is clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
- Under pharmacist direction, exercise independent judgment to ensure compliance and execution of business/administrative activities and inventory management that do not require licensure; manage annual inventory preparation.
- Accountable for completion of non-clinical patient calls and for recordkeeping and security safeguards in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager.
- Drive implementation of new technology/process changes and engage the team around action planning.
- Maintain adherence to Good Faith Dispensing policies and ensure elements of Good Faith Dispensing are met in applicable dispensing activities.
- Support asset protection and diversion monitoring; report concerns that could compromise pharmacy security.
- Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies on errors and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims, resolve customer issues, and prevent payment rejections; follow up with insurers and providers and participate in 3rd party audits.
- Support store and pharmacy management in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
- Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate pharmacist assignments to off-site immunization clinics and community events; build and sustain relationships with retail partners.
- Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions; follow policy to discipline, suspend, terminate as appropriate; ensure compliance with state and federal laws; monitor attendance and timeliness; drive team engagement and performance improvements.
- Oversee technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; monitor training completion and follow policies for scheduling and training.
- Identify gaps in operations knowledge and support team members through hands-on training or learning modules.
- Assist management in ensuring licensure, registrations, and certifications are active and compliant; leverage verification resources to document licensure status.
- Ensure proper procedures for selection, recruitment, record retention, and training as required by policy and law.
