- Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Serve as the front-line manager to develop tax office associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates and help them advance their knowledge and skills.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with attention to quality standards and priorities.
- Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to execute on Service Standards and recognize contributions.
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and resolve conflicts related to scheduling and client needs.
- Prepare tax returns, as required, and conduct timely performance reviews; address performance concerns in partnership with the Associate Relations Center.
- Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role with supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience supervising or managing people.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
- Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
- Able to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.
