Job Description POSITION:
Chino Machine Operator Downstream

REPORTS TO:

Shift Supervisor and/or Production Lead Hourly

Job Summary Performs repetitive production and packing operations to mass process products such as plastic bottles.

Essential Functions
1. Follows all safety policies and procedures and assists in enforcing safety rules and regulations. Wears all personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed
2. Completes required levels training in a timely fashion, including compliance, team skills, technical training and assists in the training of coworkers.
3. Performs routine production functions necessary to operate the production equipment to meet customer specifications. Works at different work stations as production needs require.
4. Works from a production schedule located within the work area.
5. Monitors flow of product into processing machinery.v Performs troubleshooting on machinery and assists in making adjustments and/or repairs to the production equipment.v Stages and maintains packaging materials and follows correct packaging procedures
6. Inputs data on a computer terminal to produce, label and package finished product.
7. Responsible for replenishing supplies required for the assigned area.
8. Performs housekeeping and clean up duties.
9. Initiates, reviews and follows all standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and job safety analysis’s (JSA’s) for area of responsibility.
10. Conducts quality inspections of in-process and/or finished product to ensure customer specifications are met.
11. Performs individual assignments as management may direct.
12. Ability to meet the knowledge, skills, abilities, physical requirements and working conditions set forth in this position description.
13. Must follow company procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Amcor Rigid Plastics Co-worker handbook .14. Maintains an awareness and complies with the Environmental and Hazardous laws and follows all Amcor Safety and Environmental policies.

Level of Authority The Machine Operator Packaging has the authority to shut down production equipment to prevent unsafe operation and/or the production defective product.

Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities High school diploma or general education degree; or one two three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and the ability to functionally use a computer.

Language Skills Must have the ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Must be able to communicate effectively, write effectively, read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.

While the employee is performing the duties of this position that employee must be able to manipulate product with both hands, both above and below shoulder height.
