We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Careers Advisor to join our Safeguarding and Student Services team. Working closely with the Director of Safeguarding & Student Services and the Careers Lead, you will provide high-quality, impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG), helping students develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to achieve their goals.

What You'll Do

* Deliver impartial careers information, advice and guidance to prospective and current students

* Conduct one-to-one careers guidance interviews and develop personalised action plans

* Support students to explore education, training and employment opportunities

* Deliver engaging workshops and presentations covering:

 1. Career planning

 2. Employability skills

 3. CV writing and interview preparation

 4. Labour Market Information (LMI)

 5. Higher Education progression and UCAS applications

* Provide targeted support for vulnerable learners, including students with EHCPs, care-experienced learners and those living in residential accommodation

* Manage UCAS applications, ensuring applications and references are processed efficiently

* Build strong relationships with employers, universities, training providers, charities and community organisations

* Organise careers fairs, employer events, progression activities and student visits

* Support learners at risk of becoming NEET through timely intervention and guidance

* Maintain accurate student records and monitor progression using college systems

* Represent the College at Open Days, careers events and school engagement activities, including occasional evenings and Saturdays

* Support the College's commitment to achieving and maintaining the Gatsby Benchmarks and Matrix Standard

What You'll Bring

* Experience supporting individuals to achieve agreed goals and positive outcomes

* Experience delivering workshops, presentations or group sessions

* Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

* Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records

* Knowledge of education, training and progression pathways

* The ability to motivate, encourage and build positive relationships with young people and adults

* A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion

You will also demonstrate:
