Safeguarding Trustee - Volunteer

We’re seeking a new Safeguarding Trustee with expert policy experience to guide our grassroots eco and youth charity through a vital simplification of our services, protecting the young and vulnerable in and around Chipping Norton.

Your expertise will be the vital foundation that allows our eco and youth initiatives to safely flourish. By streamlining our governance, you’ll directly protect the vulnerable individuals who rely on us. You aren't just reviewing policies; you are empowering grassroots volunteers to confidently build a safer, greener, and more resilient Chipping Norton for everyone.

We are looking for a compassionate, approachable professional with ideally 3+ years of experience in safeguarding, social care, or youth work. Crucially, you must be able to translate complex safeguarding legislation into clear, practical guidance for our volunteers. Policy review experience is essential. Ideally, you live within 15 miles of Chipping Norton, understand rural community dynamics, and share our passion for building a greener local environment.

Hybrid work arrangement.

We are currently a board of 5 and are still looking to grow our Trustee Board. Sadly, our fantastic Safeguarding Trustee is stepping down after 4 successful years. You will serve as our primary lead for safety, reviewing policies and advising volunteers across our grassroots youth and eco projects. It’s an exciting chance to shape our culture of safety from day one, empowering our green initiatives to safely flourish.
