We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Simulation Development group plays a key role in supporting car design, performance optimisation, and race preparation through advanced software tools and virtual testing environments. As a Simulation Development Student Placement, you’ll be part of a team that builds and maintains the simulation infrastructure that underpins engineering decisions across the team.
The RoleDuring the placement, you’ll support the development, testing, and deployment of simulation software used across the technical departments. You’ll work closely with simulation engineers, software developers, and performance analysts to ensure tools are accurate, efficient, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and maintaining simulation tools and frameworks
- Support the integration of simulation software with engineering workflows
- Help validate simulation outputs against real-world data
- Contribute to documentation, testing and user support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure simulation tools meet performance and usability requirements
Currently studying a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
- Strong programming skills
- Good understanding of simulation techniques and numerical methods is a must have
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics is desirable but not essential
- Experience with software development tools and version control systems
- Passion for motor sport and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
- Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September
