Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrical Engineering
As an RME Technician at Amazon, you will maintain a wide range of equipment and workplaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. Your work helps keep colleagues safe, prevent machine downtime, boost equipment availability, and enhance the operational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
- Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
- Use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness
- Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
- Support the development and progression of on‑site apprentices
- Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites
Based on‑site, you will respond quickly to any machine issues, carry out planned preventive maintenance, and investigate and resolve breakdowns as promptly as possible. You will also propose long‑term improvements and liaise with contractors for external expertise. Supporting the site around the clock requires you to work various shifts, ensuring Amazon can deliver at the speed it is known for.
About the TeamThe Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps equipment performing at its best across Amazon’s fulfillment centers. We are a technically minded group guided by experienced leaders, working together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, keep buildings legally compliant, and operate sites at maximum efficiency. Opportunities for progression exist within the RME team and across Amazon.
Basic Qualifications- Completed a 4‑year UK certified apprenticeship or NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) specializing in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics
- Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
- Relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
- Advanced proficiency in the local language, both verbally and in writing
- Experience in condition‑based monitoring
- Experience working with print and apply machines
- Experience in fault‑finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
