Responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all proposals reflect the company's commercial strategy, technical requirements, and client expectations. The role involves analysing drawings, specifications, and tender documents, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting the bid process from initial enquiry through to final submission.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontract packages.
  • Develop bills of quantities (BOQs), take‑offs, and pricing schedules.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to improve competitiveness.
  • Submit and manage Tender Queries / RFI's.
  • Prepare tender clarifications, assumptions, and risk registers.
  • Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate returned quotations.
  • Build strong relationships with the supply chain to ensure competitive pricing and reliable information.
  • Analyse and compare subcontractor bids for completeness and compliance.
  • Assess project risks, constraints, and opportunities that may impact cost.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and quantity surveyors to validate pricing.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company commercial policies and industry standards.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of construction methods, market rates, and industry trends.
  • Prepare tender submissions, including pricing documents, methodology statements, and supporting information.
  • Attend tender review meetings and present cost breakdowns to senior management.
  • Support post‑tender negotiations and revisions.
  • Provide a full handover to project delivery teams once a contract is secured.
  • Produce Cost Plans, Two Stage and Single Stage Tenders.
