Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and close‑knit team at Waterloo Lodge School, located in Chorley.
About the RoleThis is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
You will provide tailored support to individuals and small groups, ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to thrive both academically and socially. From preparing resources to supporting lessons, and even joining pupils on educational visits, every day will bring variety and the chance to contribute to meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities- Support teachers by working with individual pupils and small groups across a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Help implement individual educational and behavioural programmes, tailored to pupils’ needs.
- Record and monitor educational, social, and behavioural progress within agreed frameworks.
- Prepare and organise materials and equipment to support learning activities.
- Promote social and emotional development, encouraging self‑esteem and positive relationships.
- Accompany pupils on external educational visits and occasionally provide transport when required.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupils to reach their full potential. You’ll be a great communicator, enjoy working as part of a team, and bring patience and positivity to every challenge.
Qualifications Required- GCSEs (or equivalent) in core subjects
Waterloo Lodge is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 11 to 18, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs in Lancashire, Manchester and surrounding areas.
