Overview

Our client, a leading educational organisation in Chorley, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time position with a competitive daily rate of £95 - £110. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and nurturing environment for young learners.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional behaviour management assistance.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement comprehensive behaviour support plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation to track student progress and communicate with parents and stakeholders.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices in behaviour management.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under your care, adhering to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with young learners, preferably in a Behaviour Support or Special Educational Needs (SEND) setting.
  • A strong understanding of child development, behaviour management techniques, and the ability to effectively communicate with students and their families.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, with a proven track record of de-escalating tense scenarios.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or the willingness to obtain one.
