A welcoming and supportive secondary school in Chorley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS3/KS4 Teacher with an interest in English to join their team on a full-time basis from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator looking to secure a long-term position with the potential to become permanent.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging lessons and supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. An interest in English is highly desirable, with the ability to inspire students' confidence in literacy, reading, and written communication.
- Deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Support and develop students' literacy and communication skills.
- Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum requirements.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for all students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching students across KS3 and KS4.
- A genuine interest in English and promoting literacy across the curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student development.
- The ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
