School website: Summary The Governors at Christ Church Charnock Richard CofE Primary School wish to appoint a highly enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant. The post will be in our reception class to support high quality learning, development and care for our youngest pupils and as Breakfast Club Assistant supporting on Friday mornings only.
An early years qualification and experience would be an advantage but this is not essential.
The post is a permanent contract of 32.75 hours a week. The post also includes 5 days of lunchtime cover.

You will support children within the Reception class, lunchtime hall & playground support 8.45am - 3.30pm (31.25 hours per week).
On a Friday morning you will assist with Breakfast Club 7.15am - 8.45am (1.5 hrs per week).
32.75 hours in total.
- Support children’s learning, play and development through high-quality interactions, activities and continuous provision.
- Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors, following school Health & Safety procedures.
- Be sensitive to the needs of all children and promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, staff and parents.
- Support children with care routines such as toileting, snack times and personal hygiene.
- Assist in preparing resources, setting up and tidying learning areas, and maintaining equipment.
- Observe children’s progress and share information with the class teacher as required.
- The successful candidate must be committed to safeguarding children and will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Essential Qualifications- GCSE grade C / level 4 or above in English and maths or equivalent
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification appropriate to the post
- An Early Years qualification that meets the Department for Education (DfE) criteria for working in the early years foundation stage
- First Aid/Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
- Ability to relate well to children and work as part of a team
- Have good communication, time management and organisational skills
- Have knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities, and theconcept of confidentiality
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Flexible attitude to work
