Overview
We’re seeking an experienced EC&I Engineering Manager to join our team in Chorley. This role is ideal for a professionally registered engineer with a strong background in delivering complex engineering projects and leading multidiscipline teams. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of engineering delivery, drive quality standards and influence project success in a dynamic environment.
Location and Working Pattern:
Chorley-based with hybrid working available (typically two days in the office and two days remote).
- Lead and manage multidiscipline engineering teams across all project phases from bid through to delivery and close-out.
- Act as technical lead for bid proposals and tender responses, ensuring clarity in engineering strategies, scopes and costs.
- Define and implement engineering delivery strategies, ensuring quality standards and regulatory compliance are met.
- Support project planning, resource allocation and monitoring, driving adherence to agreed schedules and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure engineering documentation, design files and calculations are accurate and compliant.
- Establish robust assurance processes, conducting engineering reviews to demonstrate design conformity with legislation and standards.
- Maintain proactive stakeholder engagement across clients, supply chain, and internal teams to ensure integrated solutions.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance engineering quality and efficiency.
- Professionally registered engineer with a recognised Level 6 qualification (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable track record in leading multidiscipline engineering teams on large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear safety principles and applicable legislation, including CE/UKCA marking processes.
- Expertise in engineering assurance, design verification, and validation activities.
- Proven ability to manage project scope, cost, and schedule while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Familiarity with Machinery Directive, LOLER, PUWER, CDM regulations.
- Experience delivering projects within highly regulated environments.
- Strong coaching and mentoring capability to support team development.
