- Location:
Preston - Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week 8am-4pm Monday to Friday
We are recruiting experienced Health Physics Monitors to support radiological safety operations at a licensed nuclear site in Preston. This role involves delivering routine and non routine radiological monitoring in a highly regulated environment, ensuring activities are carried out safely, compliantly and in line with IRR
17 and ALARP principles.
- Carry out dose rate, contamination and airborne activity surveys
- Perform routine and ad hoc radiological monitoring
- Support contamination control, decontamination and waste clearance activities
- Assist with control of Supervised and Controlled Areas
- Conduct air sampling, smear sampling and bioassay collection
- Carry out daily operational checks on radiation monitoring equipment
- Maintain accurate monitoring records and survey reports
- Support radiological incident response and emergency arrangements
- Liaise with operational teams to ensure risks are understood and managed
- Previous experience as a Health Physics Monitor / Radiological Monitor
- Experience working in a regulated environment (nuclear preferred)
- Hands on practical monitoring experience
- City & Guilds Level 1 in Radiation Protection or
- NVQ Level 2 in Radiation Protection (or equivalent)
- Radiation safety and contamination control training
- IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent)
Ability to gain SC Clearance
