Bid Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join a leading engineering organisation in Chorley. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver successful tender strategies, working with a collaborative team over a 4‑day working week. Ideal if you excel in managing complex bids and enjoy motivating others to achieve outstanding results.
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum.

Chorley (Hybrid). Working pattern: 4‑day working week.

Responsibilities- Lead the end‑to‑end tender process from opportunity identification through to final submission.
- Develop accurate forecasts of potential tender opportunities in collaboration with Business Development teams.
- Coordinate and manage internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure technical and commercial compliance.
- Prepare and review high‑quality bid proposals, executive summaries, and response documents.
- Present bid proposals internally and externally, highlighting compliance, win themes, and value proposition.
- Maintain and enhance bid processes, tools, and an information library to support future bids.
- Oversee bid budgets, track financial performance, and align proposals with business objectives.
- Mentor and manage a dedicated bid team, driving best practice and continuous improvement.
- 3–5 years’ experience in bid, proposals, or tender management roles.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver multi‑disciplinary, high‑value tenders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong attention to detail and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to obtain SC Security Clearance.
- APMP Certification (or willingness to work towards it).
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
- Background in engineering or technical sectors.
- Hybrid working arrangements with a 4‑day work week.
