Why Join Us?

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health needs, substance use challenges and learning disabilities. We believe in the potential of every person we support, and that includes our colleagues.

We're looking for an ambitious and passionate Service Manager who is ready to take the next step towards becoming an Ofsted Registered Manager. Whether you're already registered or have strong management experience and aspirations to progress, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

This is a unique development opportunity where you'll lead our supported accommodation services for young people while receiving structured support to achieve Ofsted registration within 12 months.

About the Role

You'll have responsibility for supported accommodation services across four locations in Chorley and Leyland, supporting young people to develop confidence, independence and life skills in safe and nurturing environments. You'll lead both the care and housing elements of the service, ensuring high-quality support, safe accommodation and effective partnership working with landlords, commissioners and local authorities.

You will:

Lead high-quality, person-centred services for young people, maximising the voice of the young people in the ongoing development of the services

Create a positive culture focused on wellbeing, independence, achievement and co production

Recruit, develop and inspire high-performing teams

Ensure excellent safeguarding practice across all services

Drive service quality, compliance and continuous improvement

Build strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, landlords, housing benefit officers and partner agencies

Manage budgets and resources effectively

Support positive outcomes and successful move-on planning for young people

Once registered, you'll take on the full responsibilities of the Ofsted Registered Manager role, ensuring compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations and maintaining inspection readiness.

About You

You may already be an Ofsted Registered Manager, or you may be an experienced manager looking to progress into your first registered role.

You'll have:

• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, or be working towards this

• At least two years' experience within the last five years in a role relevant to the residential support of children or adults, as required for Ofsted Registered Manager registration

• Management experience within supported accommodation, housing, residential care, health and social care, or a similar environment

• Experience of working within housing services, including tenancy management, housing-related support, landlord relationships, occupancy management and housing benefit processes

• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience

• A track record of improving quality, compliance and service performance

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders including local authorities, commissioners, landlords and partner agencies

• A passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes

• The confidence to lead through change and drive continuous improvement

Successful completion of the Ofsted Registered Manager registration process within the agreed 12-month timescale (Failure to meet this requirement may lead to the termination of the employment contract)

Satisfactory performance in the role

A salary increase will be applied upon appointment to the Ofsted Registered Manager role.
