Job Introduction At Turning Point, we support people across The UK with Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Learning Disabilities. As a Youth Support Worker, you will ensure that young people living in Turning Points supported accommodation are supported to thrive and reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, increasing their in dependency to create a positive move on into the community.

As a Youth Support Worker Tenancy and Transition Lead, you will join The Lancashire Young People supported accommodation services that supports 18 young people (Aged 16- 21) across two locations in Chorley (Parker House and The Bridge). We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive housing professional to lead on accommodation and property-related matters across the service. Role Responsibility This will be a dual role where you will work on shift supporting Young People to manage their finances, gain independent living skills, promote health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices as well as supporting them to maximise their involvement in local training, education, and employment opportunities.

For the other side of the role you will provide expert advice, guidance and support to colleagues on accommodation management, occupancy, licence agreements, tenancy readiness and housing benefit processes, helping to ensure young people are successfully supported to move in, supported during their placement and moved on from our services. Working closely with landlords, contractors, local authorities and housing partners, you will oversee vacant apartments, manage accommodation standards, monitor repairs and maintenance, and ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and licence agreements.

As the service lead for housing management, you will support colleagues to maximise income through effective housing benefit management, provide guidance on utilities and accommodation-related financial processes, and ensure Turning Point meets its contractual and regulatory responsibilities. You will play a key role in creating safe, welcoming and well-maintained living environments that enable young people to thrive while supporting positive accommodation outcomes and service sustainability.

The role is changeable, and every day will be different, some examples of what you will be responsible for are:
Managing the referrals, sign up, support and move on for the Young People Developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans and risk assessments focussing on young peoples needs, strengths and goals. Providing support with budgets and finances Provide an excellent rent / service charge collection service, ensuring regular accounts monitoring and contact with people regarding payments Completing accurate and detailed daily records for the Young People Providing practical support and guidance to the Young People including daily living skills, cooking, cleaning, and moving on plans Ensuring proactive and constructive communication to the Young People including facilitating weekly key-working sessions, problem solving and supporting with their day-to-day needs Supporting the Young People and landlords with housing management tasks addressing practical aspects of living in supported housing, including managing repairs, tenancies, income and anti-social behaviour.

Prioritising your own case load and using your initiative to plan and implement agreed actions Building and maintaining relationships with a range of other professionals to work together to aim for positive outcomes for the Young People Facilitating and arranging engaging activities with tenants throughout the year.
