Job Type: Full-Time, 3 Month Contract to Permanent

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Refuse HGV Class 2 Driver to join our waste management team based in Chorley. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional driver who takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, service, and teamwork.

As a Refuse Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of domestic and/or commercial waste across designated routes, working closely with loaders and the operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 (Category
  
  C) refuse vehicle safely and efficiently

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects

• Follow planned collection routes and schedules

• Work collaboratively with the refuse collection team

• Ensure compliance with all road transport and health & safety regulations

• Provide professional and courteous service to the public

• Complete all required paperwork and digital records accurately

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category
  
  C) licence

• Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card

• Previous experience in refuse or waste collection driving preferred

• Good knowledge of driver hours and regulations

• Strong awareness of health & safety practices

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious attitude

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday

• Early starts (typically 4:00am)
