About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, medium-sized refurbishment contractor based in the Bournemouth area. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to oversee multiple commercial refurbishment projects across the region.
This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the company directors. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, suppliers, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple commercial refurbishment projects simultaneously from pre-start through to completion.
Report directly to the company directors on project progress, programme, budgets, and performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout each project.
Coordinate with site managers and project teams to ensure projects are adequately resourced with labour and subcontractors.
Oversee supplier and subcontractor accounts, negotiating where appropriate and ensuring strong commercial relationships.
Monitor project programmes, costs, and quality standards, taking proactive action to resolve any issues.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and industry best practice.
Attend client meetings, progress meetings, and site visits as required.
Support the commercial team in managing project profitability and contractual obligations.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Significant experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Manager within the construction industry.
A proven track record of successfully managing multiple commercial refurbishment projects simultaneously.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
Strong commercial awareness and experience working alongside clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
The ability to build lasting client relationships and represent the business professionally.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
Experience delivering commercial refurbishment projects across sectors such as offices, education, healthcare, retail, or public sector buildings.
Relevant construction qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid or equivalent).
