English Tutor Help Learners Develop Confidence in English

We're looking for an English Tutor to support children and young people across Christchurch and the surrounding areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities
, you'll provide tailored support to learners who require alternative educational provision. Students may be working at different levels and for different reasons, but all benefit from a consistent tutor who can adapt sessions to their individual needs and help them make meaningful progress.

Whether supporting literacy development, improving written communication, or helping students work towards qualifications, you'll play an important role in increasing confidence and engagement with learning.

Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting
    , including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
  • Strong English subject knowledge
  • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Christchurch and surrounding areas

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs

Each learner has unique strengths and challenges, requiring a flexible and individualised approach.
