About the Post

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational Teacher of Social Sciences to join our thriving and high‑performing curriculum team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5 and Law at KS5, contributing to two subjects that are rapidly growing in popularity and central to our vision for Social Science education across Christchurch.

Sociology has recently been introduced as a new GCSE option and is already proving extremely popular with students. At A level, Sociology has long been one of Twynham Sixth Form’s most successful subjects, with strong outcomes and high levels of student engagement. Law A level has been introduced this year and is already attracting significant interest from our sixth form students.

You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team of Social Scientists, including our hugely successful Psychology department, PSHE and PRE. This is a fantastic opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about Social Science education and eager to contribute to a vibrant, ambitious and supportive team.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Teach Social Science at KS4 and KS5 and Law at KS5 within a high-performing and well-established team.
  • Deliver exceptional extra-curricular opportunities within and beyond Social Science.
  • Further contribute to our vision for education across the town of Christchurch.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

We welcome applications from teachers at all stages of their career, including Early Career Teachers.
