Overview

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Christchurch, Dorset team. As a Senior Design Engineer for our Christchurch location, you will be working in the design engineering team, supporting production, resolving obsolescence and re-introduction of legacy sensor and solenoid products for commercial and military Aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in the aerospace industry and be competent in mechanical design with experience in valves, solenoids, or sensors.

Location: Christchurch, Dorset

What You Will Do
  • Generate mechanical design schemes for Solenoid and Sensor products using Solid Works.
  • Author, check and approve testing procedures and reports.
  • Support operations with manufacturing/quality issues, making technical judgments to approve disposition of non-conformances and engineering change requests.
  • Identify risks and lead mitigation activities through analysis or testing.
  • Generate and check/approve manufacturing drawings, with proficiency in BS8888, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), tolerance analysis, and best drawing practices.
  • Lead small project teams as required.
  • Support investigation activities using 8D and other problem-solving tools.
Qualifications
  • Degree (or HND) in a relevant Engineering subject.
  • Significant experience in a design role within the Aerospace industry.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, soldering, welding and brazing.
  • Familiarity with BS8888.
  • Solid Works or a similar CAD package.
  • UK citizenship.
