Trainee Pre-production Engineer | Christchurch | up to £35000

Learn how every project is shaped before it reaches the shop floor, turning customer drawings into accurate, workable production plans.
This is a role where you'll be trained properly, and where accuracy and process discipline are genuinely valued, not just expected.

As a Trainee Pre-production Engineer, you will benefit from:

As a Trainee Pre-production Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Learning to prepare cost estimates and quotations from customer specifications, drawings and BOMs
  • Supporting the planning of manufacturing processes, routing and material requirements
  • Assisting with customer queries on technical, specification and delivery requirements
  • Gathering supplier pricing, lead times and material availability
  • Reviewing drawings and BOMs to help spot manufacturing risks and cost implications
As a Trainee Pre-production Engineer, your experience will include:
  • An engineering qualification (or working towards one), or some hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, or a strong willingness to learn
  • Good numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Organised, detail-focused and keen to develop a career in engineering
  • Exposure to CNC machining, fabrication or welding processes (desirable)
