Security Officer

Working Hours & Travel

Various shift times (between Monday – Saturday 08:00 and 22:00, Sunday 10:00‑17:00). Must be flexible to work any day/time and have a full UK driving licence and own vehicle as travel includes circa 30 miles radius each way.

You are required to provide safety and security to our customer's property, people and/or assets in line with the published Assignment Instructions, delivering results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators. Provide exceptional customer service to both staff and visitors alike, as well as undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development, all whilst upholding both Mitie and the client's reputation.

As this is a relief role covering both sickness and holiday absences, you must be flexible in terms of the days you work and able to pick up shifts at short notice. Minimum 8‑hour contract.

• Use ASCONE to maintain the security of the site.
• Conduct regular patrols of the site.
• Deliver customer service to both staff and visitors.
• Support staff with any reasonable request.
• Ensure relevant reports are completed accurately for information to be recorded.

For this role you must fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training and undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Operations Manager. You must renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

• Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Be proactive and reactive when delivering customer service to diffuse situations and avoid escalation.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete accurate and detailed entry of any incidents that occur on the system provided on site.
• Call emergency services and Control Room to report all serious incidents.

• Valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence.
• Minimum one year of security experience.
• Retail experience is essential.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to make instant, positive connections with store teams.
• Self‑starter, can act without direction.
• Report writing skills essential.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
