Do you have a passion for helping students? Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for secondary (middle and high) special education teaching positions that may become available within our division for the 2026 – 2027 school year.

Please note this is a "continuous recruit posting" to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting.

• To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement in area to which assigned
• Possess knowledge of medical aspects of disabilities and their implications for instruction
• Possess knowledge of resources and techniques needed to integrate special education students into the least restrictive environment
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
• Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
• Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
• Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

• Hold a master’s degree in Education

FLSA:
Exempt

SALARY: $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (Salary may change due to  budget considerations)
