** Here is an opportunity to thrive and bring your valuable skills to life within a setting known for providing the best quality care to patients. As a clinical associate, you will provide basic clinical services to patients and clerical support to the unit health-care team.
** Successful candidate MUST BE able to attend required orientation classes during day time hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks. These classes are mandatory! At least two classes are being conducted online, but the rest of them will require you to attend classes in person in Roanoke, VA.
**** Three 12-hour Night shifts each week with every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements.
*** Welcomes and assists patients and visitors with registration.
* May assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
* Coordinates patient flow into/out of area using department/unit specific software and Intranet. Schedules patient therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
* May review medical records for outstanding orders and notifies nurse of stat orders and medication changes.
* Cleans unit-based equipment and gathers supplies needed to operate equipment between patients as needed.
* Transports patients, supplies specimens and equipment within the facility.
* May assist with chart audits.
* May perform unit-based patient care tasks for patients.
* May participate in the sitter process
* Interacts with patients, visitors, physicians, and other health professionals.
* Answers incoming calls via telephone and patient call system.  Routes calls as needed and takes messages.
* Provides scheduling coverage support for department/unit staff scheduling, including back up coverage.
* Operates and maintains general office equipment. Orders department/unit supplies and equipment and stocks/organizes supplies.
* Serves as a resource for department/unit software system.
* Monitors cleanliness of waiting and break rooms and performs safety/environmental rounds.
* Assists with maintaining regulatory compliance in unit.#

* Critical Access Area - Certified Nursing Assistant is required.
** Life Support:
** AHA BLS-HCP required.
